KILOGRAM (kg) (@217)
Êèëîãðàìì (êã) [Rus.]

The SI unit of mass is called the kilogram (kg), defined as the mass of the International Prototype Kilogram, a block of platinum-iridium alloy kept in the vault at Sevres, France. No acceptable alternative to this standard has been found, and the kilogram remains as the only SI reference that could potentially be stolen, lost, or could under corrosion.
